Back again- Any one have any experience with the Sony DVP-CX985V ?
I like the fact that it has all the features I want in a unit. And based on what Alan said, there does not seem to be any advantage to spending alot of money for cd/dvd/sacd units.
Good unit?

Yes
And...Yes
Welcome back!
Rich.
PS-My Wife is the one who is more than just a little bit attached to this unit, when someone comes over she has like a 20 minute dissertation she goes thru listing all the good things the thing can do!
She is happy with the convenience.
I am happy with the performance.
Rich.

Check out the reviews at audioreview.com. Some don't like the user interface. I'm waiting for the 995 that is supposed to hit the stores this month. Supposedly, it has a better designed Disk Explorer.

I think there may have been some receint software changes, I had read of some of those problems in the past, but most of the worst of them seem to have been corrected.
The biggest complaint can be eliminated by simply categorizing in "Folders" the way it's designed.
It works. and the convenience of having all the DVDs in one place makes up for what little agrevation that the Disc Explorer contributes. (Adding Pictures to the titles does slow things down a bit)
I don't know enough to make a decision on the next model yet, but will have to pretty soon-this machine is nearly filled and the Wife is giving no indication that she's ready to stop buying new DVDs any time soon!

Thanks MC & F107
I will wait for the next version myself, however I cannot find any info on it, even on the Sony site.
I will buy that changer and my new HK along with it.

This site says they have it in stock. Odd that they have it and no one else does.

But note this rating for that dealer, so beware.

Something doesn't smell right when they are the only esellers that have the new product. It is always prudent to check those seller ratings.
