I posted this on another board...and though it may be appreciated here as well.....
Spent some time listening to music tonight....me in the listening position.
Two new discs that I really enjoyed:
Ben Folds: Songs for Silverman
If you are unfamiliar with him, he is a piano guy, kind of a cross between Elton John and Billy Joel.
http://benfolds.com
Brendan Benson: The Alternative to Love
Kind of like power pop.

Check them out if you get a chance. If you are in my area, bring some beers and I will sample the discs for you.

Saw Brendan Benson on the Craig Ferguson Show last night. Sounded good, but I was really fighting sleep then. Had tv on sleep timer. This morning I remembered hearing good music, but couldn't remember his name. Thanks Curtis--jogged my memory before I completely forgot about him.

I really, really like and (obviously) highly recommend Songs For Silverman. It's my favorite out of all my music purchases this year.

nuts...he was Ferguson last night?
I have had both CDs for a while, just have not had the time to really sit down and listen to them solidly.

Yup, but I'm telling you I was seriously fighting sleep. Always happens when there are music acts I want to catch at the end of late night shows. Tried to make a mental note before I drifted off to remember Brendan's name, but went out like a light and couldn't think of it this morning. I think this weekend I'll go track down one of his CDs.

Oh, almost forgot. I'm slowly warming up to Ben Folds. There was something that didn't grab me about Ben Folds Five, but I caught Ben Folds last month on tv (can't remember the show) and enjoyed his song.

Hey Rick I've got his Black Pearls cd, his voice reminds me a little of Johnny Winter. Do you think so as well?
