She was quick to remind me that I didn't even get her a card for Mother's Day. I have a feeling this will be held over my head for quite some time.

Wow, what a woman!

Psycho, your wife gets my vote for Time magazine's 'Woman Of The Year' award.

I wouldn't be missing her birthday if were you.

Pete, great to hear about that loving wife of yours! My view is that you're right to go with the 635 rather than the 7300. If power is a consideration the slight difference between the two isn't likely to be significant. The 7300 would have less than a 2dB advantage in headroom. For example, your M80s will be using around 1 watt at a comfortably loud average listening level; the 7300 would be able to play a brief peak at say 112dB as compared to 110dB, which shouldn't be much of a factor. If it would turn out(it shouldn't be assumed)that you'd need more power, separate amps of at least 300 watts would have to be added, fed from the 635's preouts. Also note that the 635 has the new room equalization system developed by Dr. Toole's group, which the 7300 lacks.

The reason my wife did not get me anything for fathers day, is because I'm not her father ha ha

Actually, she did help the kids pick our a card, and we went to "The Cheescake Factory" for lunch, talk about good food, and cheesecake....

Wow…..what a gift.

I just wanted to vote for the 7300. the 635 is more than enough, but I like disagreeing with JohnK. He gets all flustered and starts chasing me around with rolled up graphs and trends on large plotted paper with mathematical equations all over them.

I can't swing the price on the 7300 especially since JR.com has the AVR635 for $699.99 shipped free. The only thing I'll miss other the slight power increase is the DCDi video processing by Faroudja. I think I can live without that.

A spouse who not only approved of the speaker decision, but

a) Went for one of the most expensive packages.

b) Went for one of the biggest packages.

c) Did it without being asked, as a present.

I think many would agree you're one of the luckiest men in the world. Enjoy the setup.

Hi!
No, the time is not...close!In my case it was the same as the quote!
You'll be surprised to see that the delivery date will match the date quoted when ordering!
And you'll be amazed by the quality...
Enjoy!
