Axiom Speakers Arrived!

I finally got around to ordering the speakers. Rather than wait even longer to deal with the wood samples, I took a leap of faith and just got Boston Cherry (saved some money too!)

I'd say that worked out pretty well. It's not 100%... but it's 99. Almost a perfect match.

We decided on an on-wall for the center to keep it at ear level. It's a bit bulkier than I expected but it fits. Let's see if I can make it a week without wishing I got the 150...

Now if only Fedex had delivered the whole set...

They look pretty darn close and if it saved you some money I think it’s well worth it since I doubt you’ll be mounting them in the kitchen anyway so any differences should be even less noticeable.

I’ve been lucky with deliveries and always gotten everything the same day on all 3 orders.

The others came on another truck, so I'm happily listening away (preliminary review just posted).

The way the house is set up, the room is wide open to the kitchen - no pillars or half-walls separating it at all. So there's a floor to ceiling 24" deep cabinet at the edge of the kitchen, as well as the doors on the end of the island. My floor is also roughly the same color cherry. I have a 4 foot black acrylic fish tank between that cabinet and the spot where the left front speaker is. Once I get black stands for the speakers the contrast and overall look will be perfect.

The blinds in the windows over the speakers are actually an imperfect match, so for a while I was thinking I'd be better off getting something like the warm cherry or sorrel pear. But I decided to just get the cheapest one and take the risk. Glad I did. Now the stands, when I find the right set, will effectively be free.
