And this is living proof. I've got a good friend who always says....'somebody needs a good ol' Chicago ass whoopin'. I'm not from Chicago, but I'd certainly love to have shown my 'southern hospitality' to this (these) clown(s).

Wow Rick, that is really sad, some people, or should I say "scum of the earth" have no respect or value the contributions of such a musical icon.

I guess the bright side is that the memorial of Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn will still be standing tall long after the vandal(s) are laid to rest with probably nothing more than a name inscribed on a small piece of bronze or possibly granite in some obscure site of a cemetery with maybe a plastic flower placed on their grave every once in a great while...if they are lucky.

Most people experience great joy....creating, building, even viewing, things of beauty.
Sadly, too many "people" derive the same "pleasure" from destroying, defacing, and disrespecting.

And the bigger deal people make out of a vandalized statue, the more pleasure the vandals derive, I'd suspect. At times like these, it's important to remember that it is "just" a statue. It's not like the vandals could possibly tarnish SRV's legacy.

Agreed, they are equivalent to trolls on the net. They relish in their brief notoriety. The article said it had been defaced previously, why not place some sort of survellience camera on it to avoid this from happening again. Criminals are not a very smart group of folks, they'll get theirs in the end.

Check this out guys.

It's owned by a guy with the screen name Redhouse. He says "Speaking of SRV, here's is one of my Pride and Joys. This is the 5th one made of the 23 that Charley's made. This one is one that Stevie played."

HEY!!!!
Charleys is the guitar shop I frequent. Bought 2 out of the 3 guitars I own there.
SRV stuff EVERYWHERE. Pretty cool.
Although it has changed owners several times since Stevie Ray was there.
