Randy, from the FAQ:

Since this is a "personal" sale, I don't think it is against the rules, but is still frowned upon. The big no-no is when used Axioms are pedaled here. Pretty tacky to say the least.

Personally, until Axiom launches the new receiver, I kind of like when people offer up their electronics. I'm still waiting for someone with a honking power amp who is desperate for cash.

It was always my understanding that you couln't post about Axiom products that you're selling, for obvious reasons. Until Axiom enters the amp/receiver market, I don't really see any conflict of interest. I could be wrong, though.

Perhaps we could get an official statement from the management on such matters?

Either Ian or Amie made a statement a while back -- the gist of the issue is that if you host a board used for selling equipment long enough you get sued on a regular basis, usually by a ripped-off buyer who goes after everyone who might have money. The Axiom folks would prefer to avoid that kind of excitement if possible...

So, reading between the lines, I think the intention is "no selling of anything" not "no competition with Axiom". Posting for sale on something else like Audiogon or Canuck Audio Mart and mentioning the post here seems to be about the limit.

Bridgman got it in one. Unfortunately we just can't assume responsibility for people selling equipment here.

I'm late to this thread, and I'm far from being a lawyer. But in my reading of the above statement, I have a problem seeing how people could assume members can post a sale for any items.

I could convince myself the wording allowed private sales. Maybe a slight wording tweak at some point would help, spelling out "private or commercial sales" ?
