hey everyone i was wondering is this was a good set-up.(check links for info)

Front Speakers: 2 m80ti and a vp150 center

side speakers: 2 Qs8

rear speakers: 2 Qs8

And, yes, the Denon may not be able to drive 4 ohm speaker.
Also consider some direct firing speakers for the rear.

i think you have the makings for a fantastic sounding(as well as fantastic costing) HT system. i have just a few comments..

1-i hope this is going in a BIG room.. with the M80's, and the B4 plus sub, you will have the ability to make some ears bleed. and if you know yourself as a 'volume junkie', and you always crank it up, then by all means, stick with it.. but that is alot of sound, you might be better off with some M60's, and a little smaller sub if it is a small room. just for your own reference, if the room is smaller than 17x17x8, then the equip you have listed may be overkill.

2-i would not use the QS8s as rear speakers.. you would be better off using a front firing speaker like the M2 or M3.. now, for sure keep the QS8s as surrounds, but they are not recommended for use in the rear. or should i say, you would most likely get a better performance from the M2 or M3 than the QS8s in the rear.

3- unless you are a real 'sound tweaker', you really dont need an EQ. that is one of those personal preference type pieces. the Denon has enough DSP, and sound modes that the EQ may not be necessary. but , as i mentioned, if you are a guy that likes to adjust for every song/movie/etc, then get it..

SB, that looks like an excellent system. The 3805 should have no problem driving the M80s. With the 3805 you can equalize the speakers and the BFD can equalize the sub, so you'd have everything covered. One possible change to consider would be M2s for the back surrounds. The QS8s offer plenty of dispersion and the more direct M2s in back may be of benefit.

thanks for the responses. also what would be better? a denons avr-3805 or 4802? also m3ti or m22ti? will the denon reciever be able to handle 4, 6, and 8 ohm speakers simutaniously? (newbie with impendences)

SB, the 3805 is more advanced in its features and should be the better pick. If you're mentioning the M3 or M22 in connection with back surrounds, as I replied before, the M2 would be fine, but the M22 would be a bit better match than the M3.

There's no problem with any receiver in handling speakers of different impedance simultaneously. The amplifier sections are separate for each speaker and the ones that would be driving 6 or 8 ohm speakers simply have a bit easier job than the ones driving 4 ohm speakers.

I can't tell you about the Denon's. I'm not familiar with them. But, from what I've heard, I'd say they are excellent receivers. Hopefully someone can answer your question about the ability to drive speakers of mixed impedance. Being relatively high quality receivers, my GUESS is that either will drive a mixed load.

What is the size (WxLxH) of the room where you intend to use these speakers, and about how far from the main speakers will the listening position be? You are getting a VERY powerful system, capable of filling a VERY large room.

I echo the calls for using the QS8s as surrounds, but direct radiators (like the M2s or M22s) as your rear surrounds. Either of those speakers will match up, tonally, with the M80s or M60s. The M3s, M40s, & M50s reputedly are similar in timber, and are a bit more "laid back"/ "warmer" than the 2s, 22s, 60s, and 80s.

Use the BFD for EQing your sub. It's not real easy to set up, but it does a good job.

Sounds like a fabulous system. With the B4, invest in earthquake putty so you can firmly secure all your possessions.
