Which disk is better? I noticed on Amazon that AVIA 2 has mixed reviews. Is AVIA 2 the new HD version?

Edit-or is Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics [Blu-ray]a better option?

Thanks

Avia 2 should be much better than Avia regular that was created back in the late 90's. I also think they offer a HD version, I just purchased regular AVIA 2 when it first came out. If you check their website it should explain the differences.

Depends on who you talk to, some like AVIA some like DVE, just like some like Axiom, some don't...

It's looks like here on their website for AVIA 2, that it is compatible with DVD, DVD HD, Blu-ray etc., going by the logos anyway. I just gave them a call but no answer.

Avia II is still DVD only. DVE is on Blu-Ray. I have both. I think I like DVE a little better, but Avia II is just loaded with features...

I was reading one Alan's setup articles (dated) this morning and he was saying that he found the Avia disc to be better for setting up the system than any of the other disc for his particular room and system. This was also the older version and not the Avia II disc.

The first Avia disc has a funky subwoofer calibration process that I remember having issues with not long ago, calibrating the sub with each individual speaker to the others I believe.

Yes, Rick, I never did figure that out.
If all the other speakers were equally calibrated prior to the sub, then should there even be a difference and if so, changing your sub calibration based on speaker 2 only overwrites speaker 1's . The only one that stays in effect is the last speaker you do with the sub.
