Iron Man 2. I did like it more this second time, at home instead of at the theater, and I will say that it's a good movie for four EP800s. Certain things still annoy me about the movie, but it's still a nice one to have on the shelf. Predictably, I like Scarlett Johansson's face (liked it way back when I'd only seen her in Ghost World, but who would have guessed she'd be considered such a hottie?), and Sam Rockwell's dancing is always good for a smile.

I plan on buying it next week, along with a clothes washer. (still trying to replace everything that broke in July).

Yes Man. Its an OK movie over all, but it has some really funny moments.

I just watched the Blu-ray of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010). I think the NY Post critic sums it up best: The movie is too cheerful and earnest to motivate any active dislike toward it, but not good enough to warrant any strong praise. It's the reason shrugs were invented.
Both the video and audio quality are pretty good. The audio has a lot of surround action both ambient and directional. One particularly nice piece is when one guy is fighting with whips that you can hear whizzing around your head. Other than that not much to write about.

Iron Man 2. Lots of great special effects. Little plot or plot coherence. They even one shot killed the evil bad guy. Glad I waited for the rental.
Coolest thing was where one of the ladies walks away from Stark and just to the right of me out the balcony door of my apartment! It gives a hint of what Surround sound could do if studios chose to use it more effectively.

I just finished watching “The Tudors.” I had been watching a couple of episodes a night at work but decided to marathon it over the weekend.
I watched about 1/4 of it on my phone at work and then the rest on my HT. they were AVI files and only in stereo but the stereo sounded good and PLIIx (DSX wide) pulled some pretty good surround sound out of it so if the DVD versions are already 5.1 I imagine they sound great.
Can’t really comment on the actual DVD PQ but the AVIs look so good I imagine the PQ is awesome. Even on the compressed format the colours, when present, were vivid.
First off I like period pieces, “I Claudius,” “Rome” and such so this was a natural. Overall I liked it quite a lot but felt that it started loosing some appeal toward the end. That might have been the fault of marathon watching which some shows, like “Rome” IMO are more appropriate for. So I did use the mouse to start clicking through some of the longer pageantry and visual setup scenes toward the end. However, liking the beginning more than the end also had to do with it’s generally more youthful and progressive tone.
So all-in-all a nice watch but IMO not suited for more than a few episodes at a time.

Finished the fellowship of the ring with the wife the other day and moved onto the two towers bluray. We finished an hour and a half of it and have about that much more to go. We are enjoying them, but with our busy schedules it's been hard to devote 3 solid hours to each movie. Return of the King will be here tomorrow from netflx so hopefully we will finish two towers tomorrow. Overall I'm very impressed with the sound on the LOTR blurays.

I finally (last night) got around to watching my Blu-ray of Dirty Harry that I got a long time ago. Now I just need to make time for the other four.
I hadn't watched the movie in forever. It was certainly a different era of filmmaking. There's an aesthetic to it that you just don't see anymore. Unfortunately, I still wasn't that into it this time around.
