I don't plan on buying any speakers now but later down the road I will replace my mains. I was thinking of getting a pair of Cerwin Vega VF-15's but since I'm getting older (I'm 16 now) I guess I will start going towards more quality over quantity. I'm looking at either going with a pair of Axiom Audio Millennia M80ti towers or a pair of PSB's Image 7PT towers. These speakers would be used for about 70% music and 25% games and 5% movies. Odds are these speakers are going to powered by a HT receiver, first an Onkyo TX-DS595 (which I have now) then I might upgrade to an Onkyo TX-DS797, TX-DS898, or a TX-DS989 ver2. I can get both speakers for about th same price so it comes down to which is just a better speaker. So which one of these clean looking speakers do you think is worth my hard earned money?
Thanks for the help,
Chris

Hey Chris,
My experience is with the M60s but based on previous posts the difference between the 60s and the 80s is in their power handling ability. You can find previous posts from Ian where he states that the 60s and the 80s are very similar in sound reproduction. I for one am extremely pleased with my 60s and if you read some of the reviews on the 60s and 80s posted by Axiom consumers I think you will find it very helpful.See if you can find the review posted by Chesseroo on the 60s, it's very informative.
I have auditioned the PSBs and in my opinion you are better served with the 80s or 60s and you have nothing to lose given the 30 day return policy. My only concern is your source, you may want to upgrade it if you decide on the 80s.
Good Luck,

I was auditioning the PSB Image 6t set several months ago before buying Axiom. I was very turned off by the cheap polypropylene cone woofer. Price for the Image 6t at the time was more expensive than the Axiom equivalent M60. That was all i needed to scratch PSB from my list (the Stratus series was a bit more enticing but again...price).

I agree with Chess
my friend has some PSB's... what a boring sounding speaker with boomy bass... he likes them, but doesn't know any better. I keep telling him to bring them over so I can A B compare them with either the M3's or M22's, so he can finally hear, not see, the light..
oh wait, i almost forgot, i don't really have any lights at home.. well, you know what i mean!
