Oh, and by the way, I watched XXX on DVD tonight (Vin Diesel - not Peter North) . I've always really enjoyed that movie and rewatching it today I confirmed my recollection. It's a pure action flick with all of the associated pluses and minuses, but on the whole, I like Vin Diesel's character and find the action scenes and soundtrack to be very well done. A good 'show off the subs' movie. Jason

And the walk in at the end for the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D was even better casting. I can't imagine a better fit for theat new character. I'm totally drawing a blank on who that was? Oh, and I agree. Robert Downey Jr did a great job. Seemed a weird choice at first, but he really enhanced the movie with his performance.

Yeah, great Netflix news last week. However, I did read that in order for you to have HD downloads on Xbox, you need 8 Mbps. So much for that, I'm on DSL...

I enjoyed Vin Diesal's XXX as well. A lot of over the top entertaining action for when you are in the mood for that sort of thing. I especially enjoyed digging out the CD again after getting the new speakers. Love the underground club scene with the music cranked.
I watch little TV aside from movies but I tried a few of this falls new shows/seasons based on recommendations from work folks. Here are a few comments.
Fringe - Interesting concept. The new X-Files but I'm still undecided. It interested me enough to add it to the PVR list.
New season of Heroes - I keep watching this one, but I'm really not sure why. Every week I say 'OK that's enough' but the PVR keeps recording it and I keep on watching it.
Dexter - I like this one. Got hooked on it last year. A serial killer who works for the police dept. as a blood splatter expert. A refreshing twist on the norm. My wife really enjoys reading criminal psychology books so, as they are lying around everywhere, I have read a few too and I find that this has given me more of an interest in watching how he displays all the classic symptoms. Such as being totally apathetic to anything outside of his 'hobby'. For instance his having a mental discussion with himself on learning how to mimic movie actors in order to convince his girlfriend he actually has an emotion or two for his unborn child .
True Blood - Can't go wrong with vampires right? WRONG! IMHO, this new show sucks more than vampires suck blood. Anna Paquin, who plays the lead, (Rogue of X-Men fame) looks damn cute in those tight white t-shirts that she always wears but I have to resort to that low level of comment just to say anything kind about the show at all.
Waiting eagerly for Battlestar Galactica to start up again in January. Yes, being a nerd, is one of my many many hobbies. Lucklily I have some very anti-nerd hobbies to balance it out.
------ OK I have posted way too much today. A sure sign that I have had tooo many freaking conference calls that are wasting my time as much as I am.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Pity True Blood stinks--the books are actually pretty good.
Wait, there's a new X-Files show?

Fringe, is being compared to X-Files, very similar in its ideas of humans being able to do things beyond the normal scope of science, but FRINGE Science is where it has its basis.

Agree w/ Murph's assessments.
Heroes: Seems to be on the outs. The writing isn't clear from week to week, too many twists and turns to see where they are trying to go. It's starting to lose me.
True Blood: My wife reads the books and I tried to watch it. Forgive me, but vampire love story? Uh uh, doesn't work for me. I gave up after 2 shows.
Also waiting for BSG. I think it's the best written show (at least sci fi related). I think 30 Rock takes it for comedy.
Dexter: I like the show but I wonder how much I'm missing watching CBS vs Showtime. Granted, it's probably better that way, sometimes it gets a little too disturbing for me.
For nerds, I still like Chuck. Babes and gadgets, it's like Maxim on TV.
I also like Reaper but I don't know if it's coming back.
Crusoe has peaked my interest for now. Curious to see how he does McGyver in the 18th century (or is it 19th?) Though I'd like the creators explain to me how he can make a tree house floor w/ perfect floorboards considering he doesn't have a band saw... Yeah, maybe it's from the ship...
