You're picking up a preamp, for what? Are you going with a 2 channel set up?

The preamp is for the main listening room. The Axioms are for the family room surround setup.

Is anyone in Northern NJ with Axiom M80, VP150/180, QS8 setup? I am considering Axiom M80/VP180/QS8 or Paradigm Studio 100/CC-690/ADP-590 and would like to know if I can audition Axioms. I recently auditioned Paradigm setup and was really really impressed with the sound quality and their look but the Paradigm prices are out of my budget, plus arrogant dealer and have to rely on dealer for repairs instead of Paradigm.

You should like Axiom as the M80sv2s sound very similar to the Studio 100s and the QS8s are better than the ADP series, IMO. I hope someone will be able to help you out, although with Axiom having just released a v3 speaker I highly doubt you will have anyone nearby that has the v3 speaker yet. Good luck.

OK, I am now interested in auditioning any Axiom model, not just the ones I can mount on a wall. I think I've got some freedom now with the speaker options. (I've had my ugly Polks upstairs for a week and she hasn't complained... easing back to something much more attractive but still floorstanding could still work. Diabolical!)
Anyway, the closer to Chicago city the better, but I do need to take a trip way south to University Park at some point, so if that one person in Wilmington is around, I could combine those trips. Otherwise, how might I go about tracking down the person in Arlington Heights? Thanks, -Dave |

Who in their right mind would move from Chicago to Florida? Doesn't he like snow?
