Incidentally, i have been looking at the stone sealants and some are based on alkylalkoxysilanes (carbon-silicon compounds). This type of research actually supports the concept of sealants as beneficial in reducing liquid penetration on a stone surfa

I am completely unsurprised by that price. A 12' long 2x12 of cheapo pine will run you north of $50. More exotic woods... well, they're much more expensive than pine even in easier sizes like 1x4s!

hehehehe...just called the place. That online price was wrong. I've got two quotes now, both are north of $900 for a piece of lumber like that in walnut (didn't get price for mahogany, but it's likely similar). I thought $600 was too high! WTF!?

You don't give up wall surround and replace them with ceiling ones. You take a regular 5.1 or 7.1 setup (you talked about going 7.1) and then ADDING 2-4 additional speakers to the ceiling. Thus the 7.1.4 I mentioned before. You have 11 speakers and

This was a serious storm. Very windy. Luckily, the drifts were kind to me and the snow is of the light and fluffy variety. I took it slow and easy. The roads are still closed here in eastern Massachusetts. We have had many worse storms then this one,

So I think I'm finally getting my garage converted. We'll be moving our computers in there so we'll need a desk. The best solution I can think of is a 12' long shelf/desktop along one wall. I've found a guy on Etsy that can make some very nice hea
