Funny thing about this guy is that he looks like a Bulldog!

From PVT to LtGen...the Officer couldnt stand him and the Enlisted loved him he was the Marines Marine. He was awarded not one , not two but FIVE Navy Cross which in the Navy and USMC is the second highest award given next to the CMH. They "the Corps leadership" wouldnt give him a CMH, because if they did they would have had to promote him to General which ment he would have been the Commandant...and the Officer Corps was not going to have that. He believed that we could take any beach or hill given..we just had to attack it, yeah we were going to lose som Marines but the mission would be accomplished and the Jarheads loved him.

In the early 50's the Commandant came to Parris Island and he held his function at the Officers Club, the only people that showed where the Officers, Sgt Maj, and some 1st Sgts. Later that year Chesty came and held his get together at the E-Club and I was told by a Marine DI that was there at the time there was an 1 hr wait just to get inside.

Semper Fi Chesty!!!!!

Hey by the way I guess I need to do some research due to Craigs comment on Axiom subs comparing to SVS...this is an Speaker site correct, LOL.
