Boom, your manual should be more specific about it, but Marantz is likely indicating that it works well with speakers no lower than 6 ohms in impedance. If that's the case, of course an 8 ohm speaker is no problem from the standpoint of impedance, since less current is used into 8 ohms than into 6 ohms.
