I now have all my a/v equipment plugged into
Brickwall surge protectors. I just re-checked the specs to see if they hit the 700 joule mark - Brickwall units are rated at "unlimited" due to design. I recently had my EP500 plugged into one of those $8 surge strip cords and after an electrical storm the sub was the only piece that took a hit (blown fuse). I now have it plugged into on of the Brickwall units and yesterday afternoon we had a doozie of a storm front with lots of local lightning and all equipment is still running... so far. Electricity is a funny thing and a lightning strike can zap anything, even if the breaker is OFF. So I'll brag for now until Murphy pays me a visit.
