If you're going new, you should look at the Technics SL-1200. Built like a tank. They are heirloom turntables. Easy to use, and amazing sounding. I highly recommend them to anyone buying brand new. A friend of mine used to work here. They have good deals on used ones, but you'd really only be saving $100-$130 on it. If you've got a little more to spend, it's worth buying a brand new one.
