80 setting on the crossover of all speakers (setting on the receiver)...check

Crossover on the EP175 all the way up...check

The volume control on the EP175 should not have to be maxed out. What is the subwoofer level set on your receiver? (it will be a number value ranging usually from -12 to +12).
