USB cable pairing is an interesting point that we discovered last Christmas. Due to an extended family gathering and some VERY nice gifts, we had two PS3's in the same house for a week.

It was quite funny when a PS3 controller would wander from upstairs to downstairs and we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. It took us a bit to realise we kept interacting with the PS3 that was on a different floor of the house without knowing it. In the end we all became familiar with USB cable pairing!
