Now I want a hotdog! Nice video. I never really thought about measuring the individual components, but that makes sense. The large OEMs probably do something similar, but this does give you absolute control over the process.

I though you might be ignoring me.Its been a while. Whats the worst case scenario if I was to install it in this manner? Keep in mind the stand will be built to fit the speaker exactly. Not so much the depth but it will have very tight tolerances. It

If the center and surrounds are obviously distorting on program material where this didn't previously occur, the first thought is that they're being played substantially louder. This raises the question as to whether they're correctly calibrated to m

Yes, as far as the rear ports are concerned. It should also be kept in mind that speakers shouldn't be recessed into enclosures and if possible should extend a fraction of an inch in front to minimize reflections and refractions from enclosure surfac

I will be installing it in a cabinet but will leave the rear of the cabinet open. This should be ok, right? I have considerded the in cabinet model but I'd like to have the option to stand mount it on its own if/when I get into a larger room.

Excellent report by Andrew. Even veteran members probably weren't fully aware of the extent of Axiom quality control measures. Each driver and crossover is tested individually and then when assembled in the enclosure the completed speaker is tested.

I've never heard the vp160. However, my vp180 is a phenomenal center. I do watch mostly from the "sweet spot", or the seat immediately on Each side (same couch). I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

You ask if the crossover should "still" be at 80Hz. This implies that a change was made since the measurement indicated that 60Hz was acceptable. If the mounting which you've discussed took place after that calibration, then yes, another Au

I thought I had a working design. I think I'll listen to the opinions I received recently about the two speakers. Good news is a VP180 is in my near future. Back to the drawing board. Any one know of a good but basic drawing program for cabinetry?
