That is a beautiful room, I love the wood walls, is that pine? Believe it or not, my wife and I are looking at a Log Home in our same development that just went up for sale, it overlooks a huge valley. I hate to think about all the work I put into our current homes basement.

I really like this room too. I'd love to hear how it sounds.

I really like this room too. I'd love to hear how it sounds. You and me both. If/when I renovate my basement I think I am going to go with a/some wood walls, they just seem to make the room warmer.

That's 'naughty' pine. It's not the best quality, and I've been toying with the idea of taking it down, but is does give the room a distinctive look.

That is a great looking room. What kind of screen, looks like a 1.78:1 aspect, and what are you running as a projector.
If you had a choice, would you have gone with a 2.35:1 aspect screen or possibly something between a 1.78 and the 2.35.
Thanks,
Myles

The only reason you would go with 2.35 is if you wanted to use an anamorphic lens and have the ability to vertically stretch the image before the lens. This is what I've done, however, for most a 16:9 makes more sense and is much easier to achieve.

The screen is a 118" Carada Brilliant White 1.78:1. My projector is a Panasonic PT-AE2000U. Maybe next spring I'll get Carada's masking system so 2.35:1 will look as brilliant as 1.78:1.

That is a nice setup Carada has, but pretty pricey. The thing it does not resolve is the loss of approx 33% of the pixels taken up by the black bars. The only way to reclaim those and get an increase in light is to use the stretch/anamorphic lens setup.
