I spent all weekend painting, cutting holes in the wall and running wires and cables everywhere. This is where we stand as of today.

Setup:
Display - Panasonic P50V10

thanks, the company I work for has a Martha Stuart line, maybe I can get free paint and Martha will come over and paint the room for a show while I drink beer and watch!

Very nice room indeed! That flatscreen looks small on the wall.

Thanks for the tips! I think I'll go with the flat wire... I just don't know enough about the in-wall technique (like how to get the wire from point A to point B for instance).

I'll try the flat wire first and if it's still getting on my nerves, I'll try the in-wall stuff.

I like the idea of adding an outlet right behind the appliances tired of seeing the cables snake out from behind it all. I'm having an electrician come in to put an outlet on the ceiling so I'll have him do the other one at the same time.

One thing you might need after installing the power outlet behind the TV is this. It won't stick out so far from the wall after you plug it in. And your electrician may even have one for you.

I'm loving the colors too. What I've been looking for. Thanks! But when you say you had it mixed as a Behr paint... how did you go about it?

I would guess they mixed some Behr paint to match the color swatch rather than use the Martha branded cans.

They can scan the sample with that computer thingy to match the colour too.

Yup, that's exactly what we did. We didn't feel like overpaying for inferior paint so we went with Behr because it's pretty much what we always use unless it's Sherwin Williams.

Martha Stewart, Laura Ashley, etc. are not actually paint mfgr'ing. brands. It's white base color from whichever mfg. gives them the best price. The color choices are arbitrarily their "own." All you're paying for is their pre-made selctions and their name. The Home Ctrs. that sell those brands, along with Ralph Lauren (which IS reallly a different base paint and it sucks), are just making you think that you're getting something special.

Almost all pros, as well as architects and designers spec Ben Moore. It has the biggest pallette, offers a ton of products for specific uses (like painting radiators) and all can be made in ANY color. They also have the best scan-match system, as long as the sample isn't super dark and/or super shiny.
