I'm set on a 2.40:1 screen because of the (somewhere between) 6 1/2 to 7 foot ceiling. This will give me the biggest picture possible in the available space. If I settled on a 1.78:1, then I would be loosing picture width. Also with all 3 speakers behind the screen, you need as wide a screen as possible.
Yes this would be a very good reason to go with a 2.40:1 screen and CIH. I purposely chose my house with a room where the ceiling my screen would hang on was about 10’ high so I could fit a large 1.78:1 screen with my M80s below it. Just so happened the widest screen was also the tallest screen I could fit. Like I said I’m not the resident expert on 2.40:1 CIH but from what I’ve read I would put more money toward getting a better projector than buying a lens. However, those who have such setups may have a better opinion to share.

I currently still use the die hard Sanyo Z2 (used to be king of the hill) with a Prismasonic H600 Anamorphic lens on a 10ft wide 2.35 screen. Works great!
However, if I ever get a new projector (bulb won't stop), I will likely consider the Panny and other offerings as discussed above. You are losing some of the pixels you reclaim with a scaler/anamorphic lens combination, but for the most part the reviews look pretty good.

Thanks for the reply Sam.
@Grunt..my gallery photos where taken about 8 months ago. I do have black out blinds on the windows now. The room is very dark in the evening. I was thinking of wall mounting my Lcd tv then have the projector screen ceiling mounted and come down when needed. I'll use the lcd mainly for daily viewing except for movie nights! I'll look into the Epson projector. Any recommendation on where to purchase? I've been looking at projectorcentral.com and visualapex.com

I got my projector from ProjectorPeople.com, had no problems with them but as I understand it they are very strict about there return policy as far as hours on the projector. I was also originally going to go with an LCD up front with a dropdown screen for movies but I got to use to running dual screens in my apartment and when I finally saw the “big picture” I use it for everything now, even my computer monitor. So instead I put the LCD on a swing out wall mount that I can hide behind the curtain for serious movie watching: http://www.axiomaudio.com/boards/ubbthre...true#Post309421
