SRoode Theater - Redux
Redid the home theater after about 3 years of using it and deciding what I wanted to change. I'm still waiting for the door hardware to come tomorrow, as well as the pegs for the adjustable shelves in the media center, but here it is.
Things you can see:
1) Added sconce lighting. 2) Replaced carpet with wood laminate flooring. 3) Added crown moulding. 4) Replaced media center with something more functional. 5) Repainted the room.
Things you can't see:
1) Opened back row platform floor and filled it with 3000 lbs of sand to stop room vibration. (It worked!) 2) Filled ceiling with 8" of blown fiberglass insulation. 3) Replaced hollow doors with solid doors. 4) Installed wall plates for all sound and video connections.
Night and day difference from before!

@ SRoode. Is your projector the Panasonic PT-AE4000? What size screen? I just installed the Panasonic in my theater room with a 100'' Elite Vmax2 screen. Movies look awesome! How do you like yours?
Thanks, Stanmanh

It's the PT-AE3000U, and the screen is a Carada 126". I love them both.

Out of curiosity...why swap out the carpet for wood laminate? Aesthetics or did you do it to liven the room? I would have thought carpet would remain the best choice.

I did it for both reasons. The room does sound livelier with the laminate floor. Since I have the sound absorption panels at all primary reflection points (including the ceiling) and an area rug on the primary reflection point on the floor, I felt I could get away with it. I much prefer the sound now compared to before.
