HT Room

The graph is the result of the Hz by Hz freq. resp. of my 2 subwoofers together, from 10 Hz to 40 Hz.
Readings done at the MLP. Equalization with Audyssey MultEQ.

The smaller sub is tuned to 16 Hz and the larger one is tuned to 10 Hz.
The PC13-Ultra's P-EQ was used to make the correction at 35 Hz.

Note the scale used on the y axis.

I'm exited to hear so many people are experiencing the same imaging. It's difficult to put into words.

you're right, it's quite difficult to find the adequate words to describe our experience.

tell me what you want and i'll tell you if i can do it.
p.s.: i did not move the MLP: from the back wall, it's 38% the distance of the room length.

Side wall to center of tweeter, center of tweeter to center of tweeter, back wall to front baffle, distance to your ears from them.
I'm considering moving my screen back, the image from the PJ is so good now though. I hate to wreck great PQ and SQ for 2 more seats that will never be used.

here's the distances, all within around 1 inch.

1: side wall to tweeter: 24 ins.
2: Tweeter to tweeter: 6.5 ft.
3: front wall (instead of "back wall") to front baffle: 4.5 ft.
4: distance, front baffle to ears: 6.25 ft.

My monitor is about 6 ins. more towards the front wall than the M80s. before i moved the M80, they were at the same distance, so it could have some effect on the sound.
it's very important that some room treatment is installed too, the more so if you listen at medium levels or at Ref. Lev.

this setup is very good with Stereo signals and 5.1/7.1
it does happen very often that the room totally disappears, and i take that as one sign of a good installation, SQ wise.

hope this helps!

nice setup! I see you are running pro-amp and your system looks pretty dialed-in too. I have OPPO 105D. You will love the 103!

I don't know where i should post this, so here it is, after hesitating to do it for many months.

I'm getting quite old, in my 70s and since about a year or more,
i've been unable to give good answers to people in this forum.
Writing this now, it seems that today is somewhat better than usual.

Short memory, downgraded logics, difficulty in finding the right word, getting lost in my PC managing files, etc...

As a result, movies are not as interesting as before
and, luckily, music is still as interesting as ever, maybe even more.
So, what does the future hold for me?
More music and less Internet and Axiom Forums.

So, my best wishes to you all in your quest for good or better sound.

I know I'm not the only one here who completely understands the things that you're going through.

Aging sucks out loud, and its alternative isn't much of a choice. I wish you the best of everything you can muster. Grab all the enjoyment you can in the hours of a day. If that doesn't leave time for this place, so be it.

The music still makes me happy, too, so rock on, J.B.
