Re: libirm, I really think that a good quality amp make a big difference in the quality of 2 channel stereo (not sure about HT though). I am not talking about the "tonal" differences, but about "true" power. More power equals better sound and not simply louder. Anyway.. there seems to be a lot of debate on that issue. I would recommend anybody to go and listen for yourselves. Or, as NeverHappy does, get them home and try them on your own.

Now, RE: Rotel. My future HT system would be Rotel separates:

RB-1080 Stereo Power Amp for the fronts (I already have this)
RMB-1075 Power Amp for all the rest of channels in a 7.1 system
RSP-1068 pre/pro (pre amp, surround sound processor, you name it)

I would not be able to buy top of the line RMB-1095 and RSP-1098 as they are too expensive for me.

FYI this is a Rotel Price List

Rotel is not available online. Only from authorized sellers. You will not be able to get a major discount from your retailer (even none if you live in an area with no competition). Reach for 10% off. You can also check ebay and audiogon for used.
