SACD, when remastered properly, sound so much better than redbook cds. In addition, many SACDs are recorded with lossless 5.1 surround sound. Don't confuse this with Dolby or DTS sound, as many do. In order to listen to SACDs or DVD-As on the Samsung you are looking at, you must use analog connections from your DVD player to your receiver. Since there are six channels (FR, FL, C, SL, SR SUBWOOFER) you need six analogue (RCA) connections. Yes, the quality is much better than regular CDs, but the format seems to be dying. The is a finite amount of good title available (unless you like classical or jazz) and the format's inventor, Sony, has seemed to stop supporting SACD with any titles. Unless you are a real music buff, I would not worry too much about SACD and look at the Panny S97 instead.
