Hey Al, welcome to the boards....
There are some Marantz owners around on this forum, maybe they will come out of hiding...
I think at one time Marantz made great equipment, not sure about today?
In regards to bright/warm/harsh, etc... I learned a long time ago to take such comments with a grain of salt, especially over on AVSforum.
My Denon2805 and m60's are music to my ears...your mileage may vary.
