Thanks everyone for the help. I think that answers most of my concerns and questions about the differences between the two sets of speakers. I have a feeling that I'll be happy with whichever speakers my bank account winds up letting me choose.
rcvecc- Sounds like the 80's with the NAD combo is a great fit. I'm really looking forward to hearing the full potential of both the speakers and the electronics set-up that I'm running. It'd be nice to give the NAD's a voice of their own by combining them with the 80's. I think the combo would make this system sing.
