I've got component video cables and digital audio cable connecting my DVD player to my AV receiver. I tested the system about 3 weeks ago and I had video and audio.

Just recently, I have lost my DVD video on the tv, but the audio is still coming through. I didn't "fiddle" with anything during that timeframe that would lead me to believe that I changed a setting or something.

My question is...do component video cables have a short lifespan and can they go bad rather quickly?

FYI, I haven't looked into the situation any farther than this I just thought I'd throw the question out there, thanks.
