Hi Don!

I started with M3's and they sound awesome. Sometimes you're better off not knowing everything though - I bought one of those A/V tuneup/calibration DVD's and discovered a 'bass hole' between the low-end of my M3's and the upper-end of my sub on a response sweep. Can't have that! So I moved the M3's to the back as surrounds 6 and 7 and bought a pair of M60's. Ahhh, great sound and no hole!

So I'd echo the 'you might not be happy downsizing' sentiment...
