I just read this new article on Audioholics:
Audioholics on Location #3: Axiom Audio It's nice to see news on the upcoming Axiom Audio multichannel amplifier. 8 channels is a lot, as is $3500-$4000. I think I'll end up having to stick to my original plan of two or three monoblocks, as I want my spending money to go to a Rives Audio consultation (followed hopefully by a decent implementation) next year, but the purported performance of this new amplifier sounds promising.
Is anyone here planning on getting it? It seems like a lot of people here consider receiver power enough, or only provide the mains and sometimes the center with more beefy amplification.
I'm convinced that room acoustics are the biggest thorn in the side of my ear at the moment, but I'm sure I'll become more curious about the other aspects of my system once I have a good listening room.
Too many things I want, and such a miniature wallet to do it with. It almost makes me want to look into harder but more financially rewarding work.
