I am about to purchase a sub for my HT. My room dimensions are 14' x 20' x 8' ceiling. I know that optimum sub placement can vary for every room layout, so my question...

How long is too long for a subwoofer cable? If I place the sub next to the tv, no problem...I can buy something around 10' and it will reach.

I may want to set the sub next to my seating area which is about 15' from the tv and a/v rack. If this is the case, I would like to run the cable up through the wall, across my ceiling, and back down the rear wall to punch out next to my sofa.

That would result in approximately 50' +/- of subwoofer cabling. Is this even possible to purchase at a reasonable price and, if so, where? Will that length negatively affect the performance of the sub?

Any thoughts or advice?
