Axiom, SVS, and HSU will be the most commonly recommended subs around here. I love my SVS PCi+ 20-39. If your 400-600 budget is fixed, take a look at the "regular strength" SVS PC line of subs. $549 or $599 gets you a heck of machine.

Get none of the Klipsch. Just order a set of Axioms that match your budget. Your ears will thank you. This is an Axiom forum, after all.
