Partially for the form factor, and partially for the bottom-firing ports. However, I too have read the thread about wall mounted M22s. It sounds appealing, but I'm concerned that the added bass due to the close mounting is somewhat room dependent. It may work for me, and it may not. Although I suppose that's what the return policy is for. So I'm not ruling it out.

And, thanks for the other replies as well. I'll check into some of the smaller subs. I'm still hoping to hear from somebody who has heard both setups, however.
