I dunno Mark; but I would think that M50s would be a great choice for a studio, a work space or anywhere else where someone doesn't want to be totally distracted by the music! Maybe even better than the M3s!

Those M50s are always there and never give a bad note. They do a fabulous job of filling the room with tons of pleasant sounds but never draw attention to the warts in the recording. By the same token they don't necessarily draw you so deeply into the music that you're distracted from what you are trying to do.

I never really thought about it until I bought some better headphones. When I wore my less expensive Alessandro MS-1s I could sit and do stuff at the keyboard and pretty well pay attention to what I was doing. When I put on the MS2i all bets were off. I was locked into the tunes! Same thing with my Sennheiser HD600s. Nothing matters but the music.

Yeah; maybe M50s ARE better for a studio than M60s!

.....I'd be wary of M50s in HG Cherry though, I'd be afraid that all I'd do all day is sit and stare at them!!
