Except for really long runs(40-50ft or more), any 16 - 12 gauge wire will do. You just end up paying for the name printed on the outside casing of the more expensive wires. I would just go to Home Depot and buy what they have in bulk. I ran 300' of 14 gauge through out my basement. No run is longer than 25'.
