My solution is I belong to Rapsody music library. I pipe it into my receiver from my computer. I come here and read a recommendation and then listen to it via Rapsody.
My Rapsody computer content doesn't have the quality sound of a CD, but at least I can find out if it is something I think I would like to purchase.
I did this exact thing just this week. Went to Amazon.com and found a "good as new" CD for a grand total (including shipping) of $5.94.
I do have a modest cost per month for Rapsody, but I get it back and more in what I save from not buying CDs that "I might like", but end up not liking.
Rapsody also lets me listen to comercial free radio through my headset while I surf the net.
Well worth the monthly subscription IMHO.
