I agree with framer. I occasionally used to have that problem with an old 1st generation Sony DVD player, but I haven't noticed it recurring with the OppoDigital 970 that I've been using for a year.

If your AV receiver doesn't have a lip synch delay adjustment, here is a crude fix that I used to use with the old Sony DVD player: go into your AV receiver's speaker set-up menu, and pull up the delay setting for the center channel speaker. Forget about the distance setting and just vary the center-channel delay over its full range (usually about 0 to 30 milliseconds) to see if you can fix the lip synch problem. I was mostly able to fix any problems with that approach.

I agree that it can be very distracting when lip synch is off.
