There is another option for mounting, it's just more involved and beyond my carpentry skills....

Here's the idea. Imagine inserting a triangular-shaped piece of wood against the sloped ceiling so that it creates a flat portion to which the top of a fixed frame could be hung. An ultra-simple drawing is included below.


I need to measure to be sure, but I'm guessing I'll probably get a trade off of 1/2 inch in height for every inch I bring it forward from the wall. So, I'd probably be pulling it forward close to 2' to get an extra 12" off the floor.

I'm not really worried how it will look because the screen will always be in front of it, but will this even be effective hanging a fixed screen this way? Is it worth the level of effort? Most importantly does anyone have better ideas? \:\)
