Must be nice... public insurance on bikes here in about 2002 or 2003 suddenly doubled.
Really makes you wonder how much you want to ride when it's going to cost you $2379 to insure a bike (using a 2001 Honda Shadow ACE 750 as a model)... and the riding season here is 5 months.

I ride a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard M50. Mid-sized, 805cc, sporty-ish looking cruiser. Really great bike. Fuel injected, shaft drive, water cooled. No fussing with chokes, carbs, or oiling chains.
I pay $135
per year to insure it. Full year, comprehensive policy, good limits, and a $250 deductable.
$2,400/year for a 7 year old Honda Ace 750? That's absolutely absurd because $2,400 sounds like a pretty reasonable price to
BUY a bike like that!
And yeah, I figured you were talking to me. One tiny benefit to living in the middle of hard-core corn country. We have a few E85 pumps in my town of 24k souls. One even has a BioDiesel pump.
