They are the Wrangle Mountains, which are part of the Wrangle / St.Elias National Park. There’s a whole slew of mountains over 10,000’ in this range. This particular mountain is Mt Wrangle, which is 14,000’. The tallest is 16,500’ and just down the road a few miles. What makes these mountains somewhat different than other high peaks around the globe is their base starts out just above sea level. I think this area of the state is 300’.
