Today I took delivery of some Vandersteen 1Cs, courtesy of a fortunate find on eBay. These happened to be in excellent shape with nice mahogany colored endcaps. As some of you may know, I love trying new things and Vandersteens have always been on my "list." No, I didn't exactly need new speakers, but need and want are often very disparate factors in this hobby.
Now, Vandersteen speakers may not win any beauty contests, but they are an interesting speaker in that the tweeter and woofer are basically without a baffle hidden inside an outer sock, or grill. This is one of the main reasons I wanted to try them. I've also read many good things about them and wanted to hear for myself.
I don't have much time on them at all, but I will do a proper write-up in due time. I like to put speakers through their paces before giving a detailed examination. So far, I
really like what I hear out of these guys. Hopefully they can continue to impress.
