Also would just getting the Epic 60 - 600 be better/price/stress on a receiver since it was said that I may need to use my receiver's pre-amp to take the stress off the receiver, just thinking of price too.
Just to throw my two cents in, I have A/B tested the 60s and 80s and I'd say the difference is enough to get the 80s. They aren't particularly hard to drive, I'm using a C$600 Sherwood Newcastle to drive them to painful levels in a 30x14x8 room and it barely gets warm, certainly no shutdown issues.
