I say enjoy the 2309 and forget about the lack of pre-outs.
That is, unless you live in USA and then you can call the folks at 6ave.com and purchase a 3808 for $1100 or less with no tax or shipping fees- which may not be much more than what you paid for the 2309 after tax (if you paid full MSRP at a B&M store.)
However, I think you have nothing to worry about- you have purchased a much better receiver than the majority of the receiver owners out there

Sometimes you just need to enjoy having something that is great and not worry about having something you think is better that you don't actually need.
