DJ, before I got my EP500 I frequently used my M22s without my sub(a much more modest unit). For nearly all music(definitely not including pipe organ)they were excellent and had usable response down to about 40Hz with room gain. As has already been mentioned, applying a little bass boost on the tone control simulates to a considerable extent the upper bass hump(which I don't care for)that some small speakers employ to give an impression of greater overall bass.
