I've been contemplating the length of a writeup for another slew of speakers that i auditioned over the weekend with a few friends and decided i will try to keep this one short.

A friend is putting together a basement reno including a media room. He's spending pretty big bucks so i went through some quotes from local vendors with him and we went to hear some speakers and look at gear. I won't bother going through all the gear list but in the mix these speakers were powered/played by Macintosh, Denon, Arcam FMJ, Moon Audio, Cary Audio and Cambridge Audio.

The speaker list:

Magnepans (either the MG12 or MG1.6, i oddly cannot recall exactly)

Martin Logan Spires

B&M 804s

Monitor Audio Silver S6s

At times these were coupled with the MA surrounds:
RSFXs

and lastly,

Monitor Audio Platinum PL100s

I plan on going back to hear the Monitor Audio PL300 series which has changed the MA standard of a 2.5 way driver system to a true 3 way driver system (dedicated midrange).

Warning, Spoiler:
Thoughts yet to come
