On the shielding question, I'd get some Axioms and move the KLH's to Zone 2. The old "give it a try and see what happens" method could work too. Absent those options, you *might* be able to find some heavy flashing at HD and mount it inside the cabinet or something. I'm totally speculating and I am not a metallurgist.
