Several years ago I flew into Daytona Beach for the 500 and after the race the taxiway was packed full of all types of airplanes leaving, we had been waiting in the departure line for a solid forty five minutes whenever a familiar voice came over the radio and says "DAYTONA GROUND, NOVEMBER ONE TWO BRAVO ALPHA REQUEST IMMEDIATE PRIORITY DEPARTURE CLEARANCE TO HUEYTOWN ALABAMA" the ground controller responded "Bobby (Allison), you know you have to wait in line just like everybody else" ... "Bravo Alpha, roger" , was hilarious at the moment.

Back in the 80s and 90s we flew to a lot of the races and I have met almost all of the drivers and crews at different airports at one time or another. Super cool folks overall.
