The people that rushed to replace their lp collection with cds made a huge mistake, That is, if you had a decent collection.

My 3000+ lp collection is worth so much now. Most of my records are priced on the used market at $40.00 and up (the highest being about $300.00). Vinyl lps are an excellent (albeit a labor of love) investment.

And hold on to older cds as well. A lot of earlier, out of print releases are now fetching quite a bit $ too.

Of course, if you have mainstream/crappy tastes, your collection may be less desirable to collectors... \:\)


I got rid of most of mine, but kept about 30/35 I thought were to obscure to ever go to CD. Mostly Jazz (and thought I'd always have a turntable, that was a while ago!) I'll have to dig them out and see what they were. (I've hauled them around for years)
